Grooming Policy Agreement
Every family will be asked to read and sign the Policy Agreement as follows:
Arrival time:
Appointments are an estimated arrival window (1 hour). We do not guarantee specific appointment times and we may arrive anytime within the given window. If we need to move your appointment to a time outside the given window, you will receive a notification.

Pets are accepted for grooming only under the following circumstances:

The pet is fit and healthy, Grooming which takes place on an elderly or infirm pet will be at the owner's risk. Grooming may expose pre-existing health\skin conditions for which My Paw Mobile Grooming cannot be held liable.

The pet's rabies vaccine is up to date (as required by law) unless otherwise discussed.

In the event of an emergency, in your absence, you authorize My Paw Mobile Grooming to contact the nearest Veterinarian and authorize the Vet to treat the pet as necessary at your expense.
Matted Pets:
I am aware that neglect of my pet's coat can be a cause for problems after grooming such as clipper/brush irritation. If my pet is wiggly or doesn’t remain still during the grooming procedure accidents can happen such as cuts, nicks, etc from clippers or scissors.
Sometimes when there is severe matting, it cuts off blood circulation in regions where matting has occurred. Then for instance, if the ear is shaved close there will be a sudden rush of blood to the ears where circulation has been cut off and this can cause sudden bleeding. Also, after shaving a mat that has been there a long time, or excessive pulling of dog hair from their internal canal, it may cause your dog to excessively shake their head. This excessive shaking may cause what is known as “ear hematoma”, which is the swelling of the ear flap due to the excessive flow of blood

I am aware that if my pet’s coat is matted my options are:
1. If I want to save coat, I will brush out the coat & My Paw will return at a later date to groom my pet, however, I will incur a $30 service fee, as fuel was expended to come to my location.
2. My pet will receive a shave down & start over. In some cases, pets may also exhibit brief behavioral changes. In certain breeds & coat types, the coat may not grow back the same. As the owner, I am responsible for the condition of my pet’s coat & I will not hold My Paw responsible in the event of adverse effects of mat removal and/or shaving.
Senior Pets:
Grooming procedures can sometimes be stressful, especially for senior dogs or ones with health problems. I will use extra care and patience for older dogs; however, I will not be held responsible for any reaction due to the mental or physical stress of the procedures. Older dogs will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort, in styles that will not add to their stress. If we notice any change in the behavior of the dog, we will notify the owner immediately and we could stop the procedure to return the dog back.
Puppy's First Haircut:
The first grooming experience for a puppy (or any age dog) requires patience and understanding. More time may be necessary to work with younger pets. Gradually adding steps to the grooming process on a regular basis will help to minimize any potential stress. Owners can help their pets accept grooming by regularly massaging pets' paws as well as brushing & combing their coats. Frequent handling of paws can help pets better accept nail clipping or trimming around the feet.

Temperament:

By agreeing to our policies you are agreeing that to the best of your knowledge, your pet does not have any behavioral issues such as: Biting, snapping, growling, scratching, or any form of aggressive behavior towards a human.

Pet owners are responsible for any damage inflicted by their pet to either the salon, stylist, or equipment.

Injuries from a dog bite MUST be reported to Animal Control Services. Pet owners are financially responsible for any medical bills and treatments if the groomer is injured by their pet.

Any aggressive pets will be returned to their owner immediately and full payment will be due.

Tranquilized pets will not be accommodated as they should be done in the safety of a vet clinic/hospital with an ‘in-house’ groomer.
Photos/Pictures:
Photos, pictures, or videos may be taken of my pet before, during, or after grooming for use on My Paw Website, Facebook, Instagram, or for any other marketing or advertising purposes.
48-Hour Notice to Cancel Appointment:
In the event I need to CANCEL or RESCHEDULE my appointment: I understand that I must notify My Paw at least 48 hours before my scheduled appointment. Leaving a voicemail, sending a text message, or e-mail is fine.
My Paw May Cancel Appointment:
On rare occasions, My Paw may need to cancel appointments due to weather, sickness, road conditions, equipment failure, etc. Every effort will be made to contact you in advance to reschedule.

Signature Required for Grooming Services:
I the undersigned do understand and agree to the above terms for the grooming & maintenance of my pet(s) & in consideration of the grooming services of My Paw agree to hold harmless from damage, loss, or claims arising from any known or unknown pre-existing condition of my pet(s). The terms, special services, or handling shall include but are not limited to veterinarian emergency services in the event I am not available.
I authorize My Paw to act as my agent in the event emergency veterinarian services, boarding, care-taking, and/or transportation are necessary and I agree to pay all costs. Any/all damages, loss, or claims shall include but not be limited to death, injury, or shock. Said pre-existing conditions shall not be limited to advanced age, extreme nervousness, neurosis, illness, previous injury, skin or coat conditions, or mental conditions.
